Bruno Vaes is a Belgian national and a commercial engineer from the University of Louvain. With all of his four kids grown up, he and Anne, his American wife, decided late in 2009 to move to the USA, settling in March 2010 in a small town near Harpers Ferry, WV. Anne now enjoys the proximity to her two daughters and two grandsons; Bruno, an avid American history reader, appreciates living at the crossroads of so many historical places.
The opportunity to work for Foster Web Marketing as a writer gave Bruno the ideal combination of working from home and delving into the intricacies of the English language, the U.S. legal system, and SEO.
Bruno spent the first 8 years of his career in Brazil, working as a commodity trader and commercial manager in a large US agro-industrial corporation. Back in Belgium he worked first for an Antwerp-based international marine insurance broker developing their business in South America, and later became a member of the Executive Committee of a prominent Belgian security firm.
Focusing mostly on sales and marketing and on business development through alliances and partnerships, Bruno decided to create his own firm and offer his wide range of experience to companies in need of a new commercial strategy. For 12 years his company performed valuable services for medium and large firms in areas as diverse as security systems, industrial cleaning, biodiesel processing, oilseed crushing, and renewable energy.
Bruno speaks fluent English, French, Dutch, and Portuguese. His four children and two grandchildren live in Belgium and he tries to see them three to four times a year.
Bruno is an amateur cartoonist and has tremendously enjoyed the drawing and colouring possibilities of Photoshop and graphic tables, getting quite a bit of inspiration from a huge collection of European and US comic strips.
