Sara Lubkin has been with Foster Web Marketing since 2009.
Education and Professional Experience Sara was majoring in computer science at the University of California in Santa Barbara, when she decided to take a geology course. It was love at first lecture, and in 2007, Sara earned a PhD in geology from Cornell University. She is an expert on fossil beetles and has discovered and named a number of new (but still ancient) species.
While in college, Sara won several awards for technical and science writing and trained as an emergency medical technician. She was preparing to be a volunteer firefighter when she met and married a soldier. This adventure led her to Northern New York where she got to experience rural life and wind chills of -40 degrees.
Sara's professional background is as diverse as her studies. She co-directed telephone fundraising for an environmental group, created a management information system for a social service agency, ran lab tests on some of the earliest colored LED lights, studied prehistoric temperature fluctuations, and taught introductory geology labs. She is the creator and lead author of a successful blog about creative play.
