Anybody can be removed from Google

One very nice aspect of Google is that all you have to do for your site to be successful is follow the rules. This applies to everyone, whether it is a multi-billion dollar organization or whether it is a mom and pop bakery.

If you break the rules, you get removed from the Google index. Again, this applies to everyone, whether it is a multi-billion dollar organization or whether it is a mom and pop bakery.

There isn't much else on earth like it. Think of the leeway that is given to the very rich and powerful on a daily basis in all other walks of life. Do you receive the same sort of treatment?

BMW was treated by Google in exactly the same way that they treated other groups, individuals or businesses that break the rules. They pulled a trick in which the algorithm thought it was looking at one thing but everyone who actually went to a site saw something else. This is a deliberate trick to get higher web exposure for themselves.

So, as you can tell by this blog post:

Google is serious about keeping black hat SEO tactics from influencing their rankings, even if it is a company the size of BMW.
