Attorney website design: Why you need video instead of a flash header

Considering how ubiquitous and popular online videos are these days, we still get quite a few clients who want to settle for having flash animation on their websites. We try to talk them out of it, but you know how some clients can be - they know best!

We want to explain in more detail why we want you to put videos on your site instead of just using flash animation...

  1. Flash animation is wasted space. With flash animation, your website visitor will see the same flash images over and over on each and every page they visit. When you have flash on each page, you are wasting space, because web visitors will just tune it out.
  2. You want to target your message. If you have several different practice areas, you want to target your message to these different areas. With flash, you're saying the same thing no matter what practice area your web visitor is interested in. Video gives that extra personalization and allows you to give specific information to visitors to each of your practice areas.
  3. Brand yourself as a leader in your field. By delivering targeted, unique video content to your website visitors, you'll come across as a leader and an expert. Clients want to hire somebody who knows what they are doing, and video gives you an opportunity to show clients your expertise.

Thinking of putting a picture of yourself or your logo up on your site instead of flash or video? Go back and read the three points above again - they all apply even more in that case!
