Checking Your Links’ Travel Paths

You have links throughout your website, and your website consists of pages upon pages. You have ultimate control over your own site and can go through and make the appropriate updates and changes when needed, but what do you do when the links you use are no longer working? You do not have control over those sites, but there needs to be a way for you to make sure the links on your page are always working.

How to check using Google Chrome

Built within Chrome is the option to "Check My Links." This link checker is fast, checks multiple pages at once, and even provides you the error for the link(s) not working.

How to use "Check My Links"

First, install Chrome if you have not already. Then go to the extension install page. Next, click on the icon that now appears in the top right of your browser window. Your links are now being reviewed.

This tool is simple, easy to use, and will keep your web marketing polished. Clients and future clients who use your site will appreciate the time you take to make sure that everything on your site is working and current. Nothing looks worse than a site that leads to nowhere.

There is a tool for Firefox also. You can get it here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/linkchecker/

Great, but what if you are a Firefox guy? I'm not comfortable with the EULA and privacy policies of Chrome. Is there another way to do this?
