Encourage People to Read Your Website Articles by Following These 3 Tips

Encouraging someone to click on your article or Web page is a science.  There are certain factors involved that will improve the odds of your content being read.  The whole purpose of your website content is to convert visitors into contacts.  However, if no one is reading your content, you’re not going to be attracting cases.

An article posted in a recent EzineArticles.com Newsletter, “Increasing Article Views – Ramp Up Your Writing Efforts,” had great advice on article writing, many of which you have heard us preach.  Below is a summary of some of these tips:

  1. Create a meaningful title.  The truth is, people will “judge a book by its cover” and they will judge an article based on its title.  According to EzineArticles.com, the first three to five words in the title are the most important.  Not only should your titles have keywords, they should also be compelling.
  2. Write an interesting summary (a.k.a. meta description). You need to write a short and accurate description of your article that contains your keywords.  Think in terms of marketing when you are writing your summary.  It needs to grab the attention of the reader and encourage him or her to click on your article.
  3. Mention your articles on Facebook and Twitter.  If you have added a new article to your website, create an interesting caption about it on Twitter and Facebook.  By doing so, you will be able to create buzz about your article and drive traffic back to your website.
