Even the Pope Recognizes the Importance of Social Media!

Pope Benedict XVI has urged priests to spread their messages through cutting edge technologies, such as blogs, Web videos, images and websites.  In a recent message, the pope has encouraged priests to use all multimedia available to preach and engage with others.

Here is what Pope Benedict had to say:

“The spread of multimedia communications and its rich “menu of options” might make us think it sufficient simply to be present on the Web, or to see it only as a space to be filled. Yet priests can rightly be expected to be present in the world of digital communications as faithful witnesses to the Gospel, exercising their proper role as leaders of communities, which increasingly express themselves with the different “voices” provided by the digital marketplace.”

It’s no secret that the 265th Pontiff of the Roman Catholic Church is a big proponent of social media.  In fact, he has a channel on YouTube and has created an app for Facebook and iPhone.  Even though he’s not on Twitter yet, he definitely has recognized the tremendous benefits of social media!

If you are not blogging or using Web video or social networking to promote your law practice or business, you are missing out on a great opportunity.
