Four Ways to Get Great Google Places Reviews for Your Law Firm

According to a new study conducted by the Pew Research Center, more and more Americans are turning to location-based online services to find nearby businesses and products - using sites like Google Maps and Google Places. Because of these growing numbers, it is imperative that your Google Places business listing is thorough, accurate, and filled with rave reviews.

 

But how can you grow your number of high-quality Google Places reviews? Here are a few quick tips:

 

  • Ask, ask, ask. It's just like your mother always said: sometimes, to get what you want, you just have to ask nicely. If your client or customer sends you a thank you email or comments that they have had a good experience, ask them to write a review! A few organic, heartfelt, and personal reviews from real clients are leagues better than anything else. And don't be afraid to let your client know how much a review would help you when you ask them to take the time to write one.

  • Become a reviewer yourself. Many people want great reviews of their business, but they don't understand the process of online reviewing themselves. Get on Google Places and start reviewing your favorite places around town. Using the website will quickly help you think of ways to improve your own page and increase reviews for your unique business.

  • Don't try the shortcuts. Yes, you can pay people to review your business or offer prizes and incentives to clients who write reviews. However, this does not lead to the sincere, honest reviews that really affect readers. In addition, it simply isn't playing by the rules.

  • Mobilize your most loyal clients. All businesses have them: the clients and customers that know your name and have been coming to you since you opened your doors. These clients will not only be the most willing to take the time to review, they will also be the best at describing your services.
