How Press Releases Can Increase Your Company’s Exposure & Attract Clients

You don’t need to hire an expensive public relations company to attract publicity and increase your company’s exposure. The good news is that you can create your own press releases that will accomplish two purposes – improve your search engine ranking and get more clients.

If you want a reporter or editor to pick up your press release, you need to make sure it is newsworthy.  The fastest way to turn off reporters and editors is to draft a press release that is obviously a marketing piece.   So, it is crucial that you write about a topic that would be of interest.  At the end of the press release, you can include a paragraph with your name and your firm’s information.  By including this paragraph, you will still be able to promote your firm and draw more people to your lawyer website, while at the same time, appeasing editors and reporters.

One of the goals with your press release is to drive more traffic to your attorney website.  To accomplish this task, you need to develop content that will attract search engines.  Focus on one or two key phrases that are relevant to your practice areas AND your story.  You can include these key phrases in the headline and subheading.  The key phrase can be mentioned twice in the first paragraph and one or two other times throughout the press release.
