“I Have a Facebook Page for My Law Firm, Now What?”

If you have already read our article, The ABC’s of Creating a Facebook Business Page For Your Law Firm, you know that setting up your own page is not hard. You only need to complete a few simple steps to get your Facebook page up and running.

The problem that you might now be facing is how to use your Facebook page to get business. Below are some tips to help you continue moving forward with your Facebook marketing campaign:

  1. Recommend your business page to your Facebook friends. A business page is different than a personal profile on Facebook. You cannot request friends through your business page. Instead, people can “like” your law firm’s page. To encourage the number of “likes,” recommend your new business page to the people you are friends with through your personal profile. You can also encourage your past and current clients to “like” your page on Facebook.
  2. Start posting. It is not enough to simply have a business page; you also need to use it. You should post updates, videos, links and other interesting information. In addition, you should comment on other people’s postings, especially if they posted something on your business page. If you are not sure what is appropriate to share on Facebook, read our article, Wow, That’s a Little Too Personal! Social Media Tips for Lawyers.
  3. Make a plan. You don’t need to spend hours a day on Facebook, but you should determine how much time you are willing to spend. Even 15 minutes a day can help you build your business through Facebook.

Don’t get overwhelmed by social media. Use it to your advantage and start increasing your client base by utilizing Facebook.
