Make Your Law Firm’s Website One That People Will Love

At a recent SEO conference, Matt Cutts with Google told the individuals in the crowd to ask themselves, “how can I make a good site that people will love?” This question was related to the recent algorithm shift Google had made and how to go about building quality links.

The Big Change

Once Google made changes to their algorithm, which is used to rank websites, businesses watched their online traffic plummet. Others found their sites significantly moving up the search engine ranks. The main targets of Google’s algorithm update were sites with poor quality content and content farms.

What Does Google Have to Say About Building Links?

Even though content has been the main focus of the algorithm change, many people are asking questions about link building using Google-approved methods. That is where Cutts’ question came into play. You must determine what impression you want to give your target audience and what steps need to be taken to make them happy. According to Cutts, if you are able to accomplish these two things and bring brand value, links will come your way.

Valuable Attorney Link Building Advice

Cutts did give one very valuable piece of link building advice – find an authority website (a trusted, popular site) and see if they will publish a guest article you have written. If the site agrees to publish your article, you just attracted a strong inbound link. These kinds of links can help you succeed online.
