Whether they had a good or bad experience, your clients can let the world know their thoughts about your law firm. You can look at this capability as a potential problem or you can view it as a major marketing opportunity.
We recently wrote about Google’s new rating feature, Hotpot, but that is only one of the many review sites. Some of the major players in local business reviews include:
Yelp.com
Yahoo Local
CitySearch.com
Judysbook.com
Be Proactive Don’t sit back and keep your fingers crossed that people are going to write good reviews about your law firm. You need to take action. Below are some things you can do to boost your online reputation:
When someone is happy with the outcome of his or her case and experience with your firm, encourage that person to write a review.
Monitor the review sites to see what people are saying about you. Some of the sites, including Yelp, allow you to provide direct feedback to client reviews.
Make sure your business information is accurate on the major review sites. If something isn’t accurate, correct it.
Sign up for Google Alerts. This will allow you to see when someone mentions you or your firm on the Internet.
Have yourpeople in place. If you have group of individuals who believe in you and your business (a.k.a. raving fan base), ask them to step in when someone writes a negative comment about you. They can write about their positive experiences with your firm.
