Study Finds that 66% of Marketing Professionals Will Be Investing in Social Media Marketing

How big is social media when it comes to marketing?  According to a new study by Alterian, an integrated marketing services provider, social media marketing has become huge.

Researchers surveyed 1,068 marketing professionals across the globe, with the majority residing in North America.  They found that 66 percent of survey respondents plan on investing in social media marketing this year.  Among this group of respondents, 40 percent said they plan on allocating more than 20 percent of their traditional direct marketing budget towards social media.

According to the Alterian survey, which was the seventh annual survey on social media marketing adoption, over a third of respondents are already spending on analysis tools and social media monitoring.  On the other hand, less than half of the respondents said that they do not implement click-stream and web analytics data into their database.

This survey only confirms what we already believe at Foster Web Marketing – social marketing is gaining in popularity and has become an effective Internet marketing tool.  If you are not taking advantage of the power of social networking to grow your business, then you need to take action.  Contact us today at 888.886.0939 for more information.
