The Hunt for Foreign Keywords

If you are a lawyer in a rural area or small town, then English may be the only language of your concern; however, if you are lawyer in the city of Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, or any other major city in the States, then you must remember to include multiple languages regarding your keywords. Yes, you have worked so hard to have the perfect keywords in English, and now you must think about them in another language. No person should be left out. Your lawyer website needs foreign keywords if it is going to expand its web presence.

Here are some tips for picking up the correct, foreign keywords:

  1. In some languages there may be multiple words for our one word. For example, we may use the word “injure,” yet Spanish speakers may use “herido” or “lesion.” The task is to find out which one is the most productive keyword.

  2. You need to know which version of the language to use: universal, local, or regional. This is all dependent on how narrowly you want to target your audience.

  3. You will either want to hire someone who is bilingual or already have bilingual staff, so that they can help you with the nuances of the language.

In the end, it is very important to use the right tools and people. Get it right, and your web presence has just grown through reaching out to a population with little representation.
