What do 99% of attorneys do WRONG with their website content?

I bet we caught your attention because you’re working hard on your website and you want to know what you might be doing wrong. Is this a good time for us to tell you how fantastic the online marketing mavens are here at Foster Web Marketing? Would you like us to tell you how many years we’ve been in business, how many clients we have, or how dedicated and aggressive we are? No!  You just want the information you came here for.  Guess what – so do your web visitors.

Don’t make your website content about you.

We just showed you what so many attorneys out there are doing wrong – they talk about themselves. We can’t say this enough – the content on your website should be about your web visitors, their concerns and what they need. When you are writing content or editing content that has been written for you, resist the urge to write about you, your firm, your many wonderful qualities and accomplishments, etc, etc. Your web visitors’ eyes will glaze over and they’ll move on to another site before you can say “and we have 150 years of combined experience!

Look around – are your competitors making this big mistake?

I bet if you check out your competitor’s websites, you’ll see them trotting out the same old lines about how great / experienced / educated they are (and I bet they have a big ol’ picture of their faces in the header, or a giant firm logo).  Is that what you want to see when you are desperately looking for information about a legal matter?  Yeah, we didn’t think so.
