Yelp isn’t just a website - its an application available for the iPhone, Android, Blackberry and Palm Pre.  In May 2010, over half a million calls were made to local businesses directly from the Yelp iPhone application.  That same month, close to a million consumers generated point-to-point directions to a local business from the iPhone app.

What does this all mean for you? It means that you need to use Yelp to your advantage.  Here are some things you can do:

• Fill out your business profile as much as possible
• Respond to reviews that clients have written about you
• Keep your information up-to-date
