Your Potential Clients are On Facebook, Are You?

Gone are the days when teenagers and young adults dominated the social networking scene.  People of all ages are now gravitating to social networking sites, including Facebook.  That means potential clients of all ages have signed up for and are actively involved in Facebook. Shouldn’t you make sure you’re there too?

According to a new study by AARP, 27 percent of the people surveyed who were in the 50 plus age bracket use social networks.  The study included responses from 1,360 adults age 50 and older.

The study also found that 23 percent of the respondents preferred Facebook over such sites as MySpace, LinkedIn and Twitter.  Almost half of the people surveyed had heard about social networking from a family member other than their spouse and of those, 70 percent learned about it from a child or grandchild.

Most of the individuals in this age bracket have flocked to social networking because it provides a way to stay connected with family members.  Close to 75 percent of the group in AARP’s study said that they’re connected online to relatives other than children and grandchildren.

If you’re not using Facebook to market yourself and your law firm, you’re missing out.  There are no more excuses.  Create your business page today and start building relationships with potential clients.
