A: We have found that images that are properly optimized have a strong chance of performing well in search results. Image search is growing in popularity, which makes optimized images another tool that should be added to your SEO arsenal.
DSS makes it easy to optimize an image. When you are adding a blog post, library article or other content item, simply click on the image icon to get started. ![]()
You will then be presented with a dialog box. Click on the “Browse” icon to locate your image (you might need to upload it). 
Once you locate your picture, the image URL will be created. Next, create a short image description that contains your targeted keywords. The description does not need to be longer than one to two sentences. *Note: Your image should be optimized with keywords that match your content piece.
You now need to create an image title, which is important for SEO. Choose a title that includes your keywords. For example, if your keyword is "offshore oil rig accident" and that is what your picture is of, an effective title would be “Offshore Oil Rig Accident in Gulf.”
Size your picture by clicking on the “Appearance” tab and you are all done. Your image is now optimized!
