Major Retailers Are Involved in Social Networking – What About Your Law Firm?

As Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and other social media sites continue to grow at an impressive rate, more and more retailers are beginning to jump on this marketing opportunity.   • 1,421,000 people are fans of the clothing retailer, H&M’s Facebook page
  • 1,665,000 people are following Whole Foods on Twitter
  • 392,000 people are fans of Walmart’s Facebook page

According to the National Retail Federation, nearly 50 percent of all retailers are now utilizing social media websites, including Facebook and Twitter, as a way to build customer relationships and sell merchandise. These social networking sites provide an inexpensive way for businesses to communicate with customers who have signed up and asked to be updated on information.

If you are an attorney and have not started using Facebook, Twitter and other social media sites to market yourself and your firm, now is the time. Social networking websites allow your potential clients to feel like they have a relationship with you. Basically, social networking makes you a “celebrity” among your group of fans.
