We’re not talking about the length of time it takes to design a website or the amount of minutes it takes a Web visitor to read through your home page content. Speed matters when it comes to how long it takes to download a page on your website.
Google previously announced that it would consider page speed download when indexing pages in its search engine. Now, Google has a page speed analyzer for PC and mobile websites.

Have you ever wondered what exactly makes a video go viral? There’s the infamous video entitled “David After Dentist,” which shows a boy feeling the effects of a trip to the dentist that got an amazing 90 million views since 2009. Then there’s our very own Jim Folliard’s notable video featuring Alexander Ovechkin of the Washington Capitals singing the Eastern Motors jingle. That video has attracted nearly 300,000 views.
Earlier this month, another video went viral. The video, titled, “Greatest Marriage Proposal EVER!!!” had one purpose – to get a “yes” answer. Matt wanted to propose to his girlfriend in a unique way, so he hired an Atlanta videographer. The video was supposed to appear like a movie trailer. The story goes that Matt’s girlfriend, Ginny, was sitting in the theater to watch Fast Five, when the trailer started to play. It showed Matt talking with Ginny’s father, asking for her hand in marriage. Then, Matt had a live cam set up, which captured Ginny’s surprise reaction and the ultimate wedding proposal.
Since the video was loaded on YouTube, it has received an amazing 15 million views! You can see the clip here.
It seems like just yesterday that YouTube increased the upload limit of videos to 15 minutes. Well, the limit has been raised again, for some users.
According to the official YouTube blog, the video sharing site will “begin allowing selected users with a history of complying with the YouTube Community Guidelines and copyright rules to upload videos that are longer than 15 minutes.”
YouTube was able to raise the upload limit partly because of the advances in its Content ID system and other tools.
You can see if your YouTube account qualifies for the limit increase by clicking on the “upload” button on the top of the screen.

YouTube Promoted Videos are nothing new. This form of advertising, which is very similar to pay-per-click (PPC), was launched almost two years ago. What has caught everyone’s attention recently is that these videos have attracted nearly a half a billion views since this ad program was created.
According to YouTube.com, thousands of businesses from various industries have been successfully using Promoted Videos. A blog posted on the company’s website states,
“many video ads reach over 1 million video views, offering everything from solutions for bad breath to candy bars and cars.”
What is a Promoted Video?
Think of Promoted Videos as YouTube’s version of Sponsored Links (which appear on Google.com). Advertisers pay to have their videos appear in the search results on YouTube.com. They decide which keywords they want to target in their campaigns and create promotional text. Advertisers only pay when someone clicks on their videos.
The Importance of Web Video
Whether you are involved in a Promoted Videos campaign or not, it is important that you develop high quality Web video that will capture the attention of your prospects. You need to create video clips that answer your prospects’ questions and show that you have the solutions to their problems.
