Facebook announces new real-time search feature

Facebook announced the launch of their new real-time search feature on their blog on Monday.








The new search feature allows users to search the status messages of all Facebook users (or just friends) for a certain keyword. No announcement has been made as to whether or not an alert (similar to Google alerts and Twitter alerts where a user is alerted by e-mail) is available for users when a certain keyword is posted.
