Social media marketing has been touted as a great way to market law firms. It provides a way to “spread the word” about your practice and showoff your expertise. Social media even gives you the opportunity to build your group of followers (past, current and future clients).
What many attorneys and other business professionals have struggled with is what to share on social networking sites, specifically Facebook. There is a fine line between getting too personnel with your potential clients and showing that you have a life outside of work. One of Facebook’s newest features could be the answer.
According to Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Facebook, “we've long heard that people would find Facebook more useful if it were easier to connect with smaller groups of their friends instead of always sharing with everyone they know.”
Last Wednesday, Facebook announced the new groups feature. These groups are designed to make communicating with your Facebook friends more like how it is done in the real world. For example, there are some things you might share with your friends, that you wouldn’t want your clients to read. The new groups feature gives you more control.
With the groups feature, you can make a group and automatically add people to it. Facebook’s website has more information on how to set up groups.
