Facebook Is Making Some Changes Regarding Control

Posted on Jun 03, 2010

Facebook continues to grow at an impressive rate and it seems as though there are constantly changes with the site, whether with privacy settings, features or the newest revisions - controls.

According to Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Facebook, the company is rolling out some changes that will make controls of your information simpler to use.

In a blog post entitled, Making Control Simple, Zuckerberg said “the number one thing we've heard is that there just needs to be a simpler way to control your information.”  In response to this feedback, Facebook has made changes, again.

Zuckerberg stated that Facebook has focused on three areas with its latest set of changes – “a single control of your content, more powerful controls for your basic information and an easy control to turn off all applications.”

There is now one control that allows you to see the content you post and who will be able to view it.  For example, you will know if your content is visible to everyone, friends of friends or just your friends.

As part of these new controls, Facebook has taken measures to reduce “the amount of basic information that must be visible to everyone.” The company has also made it easier to manage which applications and websites can access your information.

Zuckerberg said in the blog post that these changes have completed the overhaul of Facebook's privacy model.
