YouTube has been around for nearly five years.  While it may be hard to believe that this website is celebrating five years on the Web, it’s also difficult to imagine life before YouTube.  According to YouTube’s website, they now have more than 2 billion views on a daily basis from over 200 countries.

Here are some other impressive statistics about YouTube:

• 24 hours of videos are uploaded every minute
• 46.2 years worth of videos are watched each day
• In 2009, daily minutes per user went up by 55 percent
• The average viewer watches 800 minutes per month

As YouTube continues to grow, there are some rumors about what the company might have in the works.  It is expected that YouTube will gain even more popularity as people start using tablet devices. 

YouTube is launching the YouTube Five Year Channel.  Users from around the world will be able to upload their “YouTube story,” which will be visible on the website.  Already, this channel has thousands of subscribers, channel views and comments.
