The most recent update to the Google Panda algorithm is out, and the results are in. Although many of the changes initially were attributed to the recent Penguin update, which mostly focused on spam, the head of Google’s web spam team has pointed to an under-the-radar 3.5 update to Panda that rolled out the last week of April.
How Did the New Google Panda Update Impact Search Rankings?
With this new update to Google Panda, the search engine giant targeted low-quality content. Specifically, the 3.5 update seems to have moved major brand sites and news up the list while moving aggregate sites and heavily templated sites down the list.
What Does This Mean for My Lawyer Website?
For the most part, if you are posting original, high-quality content on your site and playing by the rules, you shouldn’t see much change. Ultimately, Google is attempting to connect its users with great information that is relevant to their searches. If you are the one providing the answers to those questions, you only can stand to benefit.
