Posted on Jun 01, 2011

Have you ever wondered what exactly makes a video go viral? There’s the infamous video entitled “David After Dentist,” which shows a boy feeling the effects of a trip to the dentist that got an amazing 90 million views since 2009. Then there’s our very own Jim Folliard’s notable video featuring Alexander Ovechkin of the Washington Capitals singing the Eastern Motors jingle. That video has attracted nearly 300,000 views.

Earlier this month, another video went viral. The video, titled, “Greatest Marriage Proposal EVER!!!” had one purpose – to get a “yes” answer. Matt wanted to propose to his girlfriend in a unique way, so he hired an Atlanta videographer. The video was supposed to appear like a movie trailer. The story goes that Matt’s girlfriend, Ginny, was sitting in the theater to watch Fast Five, when the trailer started to play. It showed Matt talking with Ginny’s father, asking for her hand in marriage. Then, Matt had a live cam set up, which captured Ginny’s surprise reaction and the ultimate wedding proposal.

Since the video was loaded on YouTube, it has received an amazing 15 million views!  You can see the clip here.
