Twitter Could Start Embedding Videos and Photos

Posted on Jul 28, 2010

Could it be possible that Twitter will start adding multimedia in the Twitter.com stream?  According to an article on Mashable.com, “Twitter to Show Photos and Videos in the Stream,” it is a very real possibility.

It was recently reported that Twitter tested a new setting referred to as “Tweet Media.” Supposedly, this feature was available to some users of this social media site.  The rumor was that those who were able to access Tweet Media were asked if they wanted to show photos and videos from everyone. Mashable.com posted the description that appeared within Tweet Media –

By default, you’ll only see images and videos shared by people you’re following, and reveal those by people you’re not.  Check this box to see media from everyone on Twitter.

The fact that Twitter has tested this feature has led many people to wonder if multimedia is on the horizon for this social media giant.  The addition of photos and videos to the Twitter.com stream will definitely change the overall user experience.
