In a blog post last Thursday, YouTube announced that it will be increasing the upload limit to 15 minutes. Apparently, there had been a lot of requests to raise the limit.
For years, the limit for non-YouTube partners has been 10 minutes. Now that YouTube has spent some time creating and improving its Content ID system, the website finally felt like it was time to make some changes in the limit. In YouTube’s own words:
“Because of the success of these ongoing technological efforts, we are able to increase the upload limit today. We will continue our strong commitment to provide advanced technology and tools to protect the rights of small and large copyright owners worldwide.”
It’s time to take advantage of Web video!
