Google, Bing, and Yahoo are the most well-known search engines, but there are other search engines out there. Blekko is the newest addition to the search engine family.
Blekko was launched in November 2010 and, during its first week, had more than 1 million queries. It boasts that it is better than Google due to its search results garnered from a bank of 3 million trusted websites. Blekko says you will receive no spam results from them. They have recently received $30 million in funding, including a substantial sum from Europe's largest internet company Yandex.
John C. Dvorak, an American columnist and broadcaster in the areas of technology and computing, stated, "[Blekko is] the best out-of-the-chute new engine I've seen in the last 10 years."
How does it work?
Blekko uses slashtags for their searches. This allows for ease of searching and categorizing searches. Though it may look and act different, Blekko, as with the other search engines, is looking for content. Relevant, updated, and resourceful content on your website will help it show up on the first page of results. Make sure your keywords are the best keywords and are the actual words your future clients are searching. Also, take the time that is required to keep your website at the top of the search results.
Regardless of which search engine you use, the search engine is looking for the best. Your attorney website needs to be the best. If you are missing out on first-page search results, contact Foster Web Marketing to find out what we can do for you.
