The main purpose of writing a blog is to deliver high-level information without getting too detailed or being overly formal. The tone of these pieces should be helpful, educational, and intriguing. In some cases, you can even be laid-back and witty—it’s always good to let your personality shine through. It makes you more approachable to your reader and can be the starting point for relationship building.

Blog option in DSS Navigation | Content Writing Services For Lawyers And podiatrists

You can access your Blog Posts under the “Content” section of your DSS navigation. When creating a blog post, you will see the standard content fields, as well as a “Link” field. This allows you to add a URL to convert the Page Headline to a link with related or more information.

In addition to the Link field, you may also notice some unique features in the left sidebar within the Blog Posts section; namely Manage Comments, Feed Setup, Manage Commenters, and External RSS Feeds.

Manage Comments

Unlike the other content items on your site, users have the ability to leave comments on blog posts. Before a comment is visible on the site, however, you must approve and publish it. This prevents inappropriate or spam comments from appearing on the site.

For each comment, you will have the option to Publish, Delete, or Delete and Block. Once a comment is published, you can only edit the published comment on the individual blog page.

Feed Setup

An RSS Feed is a simple way for users to see when you’ve created a new blog post. Users simply subscribe to your feed, and these updates are delivered in a “feed reader.” The Feed Setup section in DSS allows you to title your feed, give it a description, and determine how many posts should show up in RSS feeds.

Manage Commenters

Any commenters who have been blocked from commenting on your site will appear under the “Manage Commenters” section. This section simply allows you to unblock those commenters if you choose.
