Driving New Patients With a Lead-Generating Website and Expert Podiatry Marketing Coaching
Dr. Ivey worked with FWM’s Chief Operating Officer Nia Al-Kilany and Vice President of Business Development Chad Foster through the development and launch of the practice’s new website. Built from the ground up to attract and convert leads, the new look, feel, and functionality of the website gave them a strong foundation to build on.
Of course, launching a new website isn’t the end of the journey—it’s only the beginning. Dr. Ivey recognized that FWM had put his practice on the perfect platform to grow, but he now had to actually grow it. The practice had been very frustrated with its marketing efforts before coming to us, and they were committed to putting in the work to fix it themselves. Initially starting out with a fully do-it-yourself marketing plan, they soon started working with Digital Marketing Coach Jessica Taveras for additional support and guidance.
And, for Dr. Ivey, that was a huge turning point in his marketing journey:
“I was working too much to do this and didn’t have any desire to do this. And, so, I knew at that point we needed some major help. We reached out and hired a number of people. But obviously, the best one by far out of the list of things we did was getting Jessica involved and having her start coaching us. And that…that’s unbelievable. That did what we’ve been looking for the last three or four years. That took our leads up. Everything went up from there, all of the web traffic. We got up to number one on the search sites. ‘Podiatrists near me’ just got up to number one today…everything that we needed was what she was able to do. That coaching made all the difference.”
However, even with Jessica’s expert coaching and support, Dr. Ivey and his team still struggled to complete all the necessary tasks to build and maintain a complete marketing plan. While things were going well, there were still key areas that they were just too busy to keep up with.
So, Dr. Ivey knew it was time to invest in something even better that could keep them on a sure and consistent track toward their goals.
Rocketing to the Next Level With Done-for-You Podiatry Marketing Services
To scale the practice and attract more of new patients they were looking for, Dr. Ivey made the move from our marketing coaching program to full podiatry marketing services in May 2023. Jessica transitioned from their coach to their done-for-you marketing services representative. This continuity and existing relationship meant that our team could jump right into the work they needed. And, in the short time between then and now, Jessica and Dr. Ivey have achieved some amazing results together.
Jessica got to work immediately by reviewing the practice’s short-term and long-term goals and cleaning up foundational issues with their local citations, website content, and website maintenance. She also employed modern SEO strategies to carefully optimize their entire website and work toward better rankings for their goal keywords.
Overall fixes and improvements are great, but it’s even better when you can also home in on targeted areas that you’d like to expand. Dr. Ivey had been treating patients with shockwave therapy for many years, and it was something that he loved doing. So, Jessica worked with him to develop a highly targeted campaign for them that highlighted their cash-pay services and could drive even more cash-pay patients to the practice.
Since transitioning to marketing services, Dr. Ivey’s practice has experienced a drastic increase in overall website traffic
They have nearly doubled their leads:
They are also currently ranked in the top 3 in local map packs for their areas of practice, giving them a ton of local visibility. And they are consistently attracting the types of patients they’re looking for, which is what really matters.
“We’re so busy right now. It’s working so well,” Dr. Ivey says. “Between, just a couple of tweaks—we wanted to see a few more ingrown toenails because that was a great, great money-maker for us. And we wanted to see more shockwave because that’s a cash-pay thing I’ve been doing for 20 years and love. They’re just coming out of the woodwork. That’s all from the website!”
What’s Next for New Mexico Foot & Ankle Institute?
New Mexico Foot & Ankle Institute currently has two offices and five doctors, and they’re looking to hire a sixth doctor soon. They plan to keep working with Jessica in 2024 and continue to increase their cash-pay services, focusing on shockwave and MLS laser therapy.
Dr. Ivey’s move from the coaching program to marketing services has kept his practice thriving, even as industry changes have dried up reliable referral sources and made offline marketing less viable:
We’ve lost a lot of those referral patterns. But we have more than made up for all of those referral patterns online with that website. So, for me, that’s where it’s real. We lost half of our marketing machine, yet we have more patients now than we ever had. Those are my data points.
Do I go to clinic every day and have a full clinic? Yeah, I do. And are we just getting more patients? We had to put new protocols in place—new processes in place—to process all of the new referrals coming off of the website every week to make sure they were getting captured immediately.
At FWM, we’re so grateful to be a part of Dr. Ivey’s incredible growth, and we look forward to continuing to work with him to build the practice of his dreams.
