New features that may affect the way you use Google+ for your law firm include:

- A new look. This change is meant to improve the appearance and performance of the site. Only time will tell.
- Preset categories. In the past, it was possible to create your own custom categories to describe your local business services. Google has decided that you must now select your categories from their list of default categories.
The Loss of Custom Categories
The biggest news for you as a small business owner is that any custom categories you have entered in the past will no longer be displayed on your Google+ Local profile. We advise that you go to your page as soon as possible and see if this is the case for you. If you used the default categories in the past, you should be safe. The default categories remain in effect, but it's worth a look anyway.
