One-Day, Do-It-Yourself Lawyer Marketing Projects: Write a Free Guide

We love helping attorneys who love helping themselves – we believe that one key to successful lawyer marketing is taking control of your own marketing plan. No one knows your law office, your clients, or your area better than you do.

So, what is today’s one-day, do-it-yourself marketing project? Sit down and write a free legal guide for potential clients!

  • Your goal: Add a great call to action to your attorney website by offering a free, no-obligation download of a short guide or pamphlet. One of the best ways to get great clients and cases is to make great information available to web visitors that they can’t get anywhere else.
  • Your project: Pick a topic that is of vital interest to your clients – a list of common mistakes, a ten-step guide to a legal process, or a list of frequently asked questions or answers. Next, aim to write a ten-page document that is filled with accurate, clear information for readers. Be sure to avoid large blocks of text and complicated legal language. Add lots of lists, sub-heads, and helpful graphics. Make sure you’re not writing a guide that is similar to one offered by your competitors – dare to be different and write something uniquely helpful.
  • Your next step: Have two people proofread your document for grammar, accuracy, and style issues. Make your document into a PDF and add a great cover (or we can do it for you). Add a landing page on your lawyer website, and be sure to mention your book on your home page (or we can do it for you). Post about your book on Facebook, Tweet about it, and make a video about it!

Need more guidance about writing a free guide for your attorney website, or want us to do the writing for you? No problem. Give us a call at 888-886-0939 and we can help you get started today.

Great post, this is exactly what I was looking for. I am doing research on the different lawyer marketing techniques for an article that I am writing. I agree, no one knows your law office better than you do so you should be the one doing the marketing. Thanks for the great information, this was very helpful.
