When Traci Scudder launched her solo practice, it wasn't merely about entrepreneurship—it was a strategic career move. Her proudest achievement speaks volumes: "Handling three of the largest and most significant, transformative real estate development projects in Southern Maryland."

Scudder has witnessed encouraging shifts in her field. "I see more and more Black entrepreneurs entering the Commercial Real Estate and Development industry to capitalize on opportunities that directly benefit the communities in which they live, work and play," she notes.

A Vision for Greater Diversity
Looking toward the future, Scudder is clear about the changes she hopes to see: "I would love to see more black lawyers entering the CRE and real development space. Land use, zoning, and real estate development law are niche areas within the legal profession, and unfortunately, there is a lack of diversity among practitioners."
