Aly attended Seton Hall University in South Orange, NJ and graduated with a BA in Anthropology, minoring in Musical Theatre. Her studies focused on market research techniques, and she wrote her senior thesis on the positive effect of music programs in elementary schools.
After graduating in 2014, she worked as a teen tour counselor with Rein Teen Tours, managing over 30 high school students on a 40-day, cross-country road trip. Her love of travel and adventure made this the perfect summer job.
Aly went on to work for Navient, formerly Sallie Mae. Here, she worked in her first customer service role in the call center. Dealing with student loan borrowers taught Aly the ins and outs of the customer service world. This job helped her become an effective listener and negotiator while maintaining professional communication skills and resolving complex issues.
Within Navient, Aly soon transitioned to a Loan Servicing Specialist in the Enrollment Department. This role required significant verbal and written expertise when determining whether a borrower was eligible to defer his student loan based on guidelines set by the Department of Education. Aly was promoted to a Loan Servicing Specialist II after exceeding account-centered performance unit goals for four consecutive months.
